Many users start their CreativAI journey by typing: "Write me a post about shoes." The result? They get text that's correct but bland – the kind everyone has seen a thousand times before. As the creator of this platform, I've spent hundreds of hours analyzing why AI sometimes "drifts" toward generalities.
The solution isn't writing longer and longer commands. The key is structure. I developed the 3-Step Method, which I use in my own applications to force the algorithm to be specific.
Step 1: Assign a Role (Forget "Write me...")
AI without an assigned role tries to please everyone, which results in blandness. Instead of asking for text, start by defining who the author is.
- Bad prompt: "Write an email about the new promotion."
- My approach: "Act as an experienced email marketing copywriter who specializes in short, sales-oriented messages with high conversion rates."
Assigning a role changes how the system selects vocabulary. It's the first filter that cuts out unnecessary adjectives.
Step 2: Context and "Forbidden Zones"
This is where most people give up, yet it's the most important stage in fighting "waffle." You need to tell AI what you don't want. In CreativAI, we have enormous personalization capabilities with variables, so use them.
- Give negative instructions: "Avoid empty phrases like: 'our offer is unique', 'we meet expectations', or 'highest quality'. Focus on facts."
- If using our personalized variables: "Use the {{PRODUCT_FEATURE}} variable to prove value, instead of just talking about it."
Step 3: Goal and Format (Specific outcome)
AI needs a "finish line." You must specify what should happen after reading the text. Should it be a quick link click? A response to a Cold Email?
My gold standard for this step is limitation: "Write a maximum of 3 paragraphs. Each paragraph should have a maximum of 2 sentences. End with a strong Call to Action (CTA)."
An imposed format physically prevents the machine from "waffling." When AI has little space, it must choose only the best arguments.
Why does this work in CreativAI?
Most platforms just give you a chat window. I designed CreativAI so these 3 steps can be easily enclosed in templates. Once you set up a good prompt using this method, you can replicate it for thousands of recipients, using our schedules and SMTP rotation.
I test these patterns daily myself. I see a colossal difference in Open Rate and Click Rate statistics when text is "dense" with specifics, rather than polite filler.
Summary
The art of prompting is the art of elimination. If you apply the 3-Step Method – Role, Context, Limit – you'll see your AI start writing like a professional, not like a student on an exam who doesn't know the answer.
The AI-dominated world rewards those who can extract concrete results from technology. In Your Academy, I show how to do it efficiently and without wasting time.
Your Move
Open the CreativAI panel, select your model, and try rewriting your last prompt using this method. You'll be surprised how much your marketing can gain from conciseness.
